YQ230 adapter permits use of 50A,
125/250V cable set, with two 30A, 125V outlet receptacles, #HBL26CM10. |
Problem: A vessel with a 50A 125/250V
electrical system cruises into a marina that can only provide 30A 125V
power.
Solution: Use of the
Hubbell YQ230 Smart Y Adapter permits the boat owner to use the boat's 50A
125/250V cable set and safely plug into 2 oppositely phased 30A 125V
receptacles.
Result:
This will result in 30A 125/250V power so that much of the boat's services can
be used.
Safely:
If one plug is not fully engaged, or accidentally becomes disengaged while the
other plug is plugged in, the power is shut off preventing the disengaged plug
from ever becoming hot or live!
Intelligently: If an improper wiring
condition such as reversed polarity exists on the power center, the YQ230
detects such conditions and will not let power flow until reverse polarity
condition is repaired. |

Y Adapters
Hubbell Marine now offers two new marine adapters for 100 Amp shore power
systems. The units are designed to work with 100 Amp 125/250 volt shore power
system and the isolation transformer on board a vessel (isolation transformer
must be present for the YQ100 to function). The new 100 Amp adapters utilize
Hubbell Pin & Sleeve devices, long considered the standard in 100 Amp
connections, and allow for SAFE power at the dock where only 50 Amp power is
available. |
